Dominick Dawes is currently the Head Coach of Stevenson University’s Men’s NCAA program. Under Dawes, the Mustangs have won three MAC Championships and consistently ranked among the nation's top programs. Prior to Stevenson, Dawes was the Head Coach at Neumann University for seven seasons, winning a NCAA National Championship in 2009 and being honored as National Coach of the Year. Dawes has coached and developed several All-American's and coaches who have gone on to work and play in NCAA, Pro, and even the NHL. Dawes played collegantly at Norwich University where he won a National Championship as a player in 2003 and competed in three NCAA Frozen Fours.
Brad is currently the Hockey Director for the Howard Huskies and an Assistant Coach on Stevenson University's NCAA staff. Brad played four years (2001-2004) for head coach Mike McShane at Norwich University in Vermont, a Division III ice hockey power. McShane, who previously coached at St. Lawrence and Providence, recently retired as the seventh winningest coach in NCAA history (742 wins and four National Titles). The Norwich Cadets won four consecutive ECAC East Championships, they played in three straight Frozen Fours, and recorded a combined record of 96-21-1 during Brad’s years on the team. In Brad’s junior season (2003), he and his teammates won the National Championship. Two of his teammates from Norwich later played in the NHL – Keith Aucoin and Kurtis McLean. Brad began his coaching career with the Baltimore Youth Hockey Club in 2011. He coached BYHC’s club teams for six seasons, moving from Squirt to Bantam. In the fall of 2017, Brad Powell was hired as Calvert Hall’s new Varsity head coach, taking over an acclaimed program that has won five MIAA Championships and a MAPHL Title in the prior decade.
Coach Bell is currently an Assitant Coach for Stevenson University's Men's NCAA program.
Prior to joining the Mustangs Bell served as an Assistant Coach with the Indy Fuel, ECHL. With the Fuel, Bell was responsible for the defensemen, scouting, and player recruitment. Prior to joining the Fuel in 2022 Bell was the Associate Head Coach and Director of Player Development for the Maine Nordiques Development Program’s U18 and U16 teams where he was responsible for player advancement, player development, academic success, video breakdown, player recruitment, among other tasks.
Before joining the Maine Nordiques, Bell was the Head Coach of two top ACHA programs, the University of Jamestown(2017-2019) and Ohio University (2019-2021). At the University of Jamestown Bell led the program to its first ever appearance at the ACHA National Tournament in 2017, matching the feat in 2018. He also was a co-founder of Hockey Day North Dakota, an outdoor celebration of North Dakota hockey which took place on an outdoor rink constructed on the main quad at the University of Jamestown.
While at Ohio University Bell led the program to two straight ACHA National Tournament appearances as the 4th ranked team nationally in 2019 (*tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic) with a and the 5th ranked team nationally in 2020. Bell also led his team and players to numerous individual awards including ACHA MVP Gianni Evangelisti. Bell also oversaw growth in ticket sales, fan engagement and revenue at Ohio University.
Before making the jump to college hockey Bell was the Assistant Coach with the Back-to-Back Champions on the NA3EHL Jersey Shore Wildcats. In both of Bell’s seasons with Jersey Shore (2014-2015, 2015-2016) they won both the Regular Season and Playoff Championships including a 33 game win streak to start the 2014-2015 season. During his time with Jersey Shore, Bell was responsible for individual player development, overseeing the defense and helping guide players towards college hockey navigating the recruitment process.
Bell is a graduate of fellow UCHC school, Lebanon Valley College, having played for Coach Don Parsons there during his Junior and Senior seasons. Bell was named 2nd Team All Conference during his Junior season and 1st Team All Conference during his Senior season. Coach Parsons named Bell an Assistant Captain for his Junior campaign and the team’s Captain his Senior season.
